Pola Sutryk will be creating the festival living room/kitchen in the entrance of the Living Art Museum, a communal space where people can socialize during the exhibition’s running period. In the idea of continuity and perpetually, The Perpetual Stone Soup can be found in this space, where, through adding different ingredients every day, the visitors can observe and taste the process of evolution the soup goes through in the time of the Festival. Pola spotlights the usually invisible labour of hospitality and care – sharing it and celebrating it.
If you want to participate in the making of the soup, then come at any time between 14:00 – 15:00. For tasting the outcome, the perfect time to visit is between 15:00 – 17:00!
Pola Sutryk is a chef, artist, and educator working with foraged ingredients and traditional home culinary methods. She transfers the aesthetic, ecological and sensory sensitivity she developed growing up in the wild region of eastern Poland into the area of culture and cuisine. Her main area of activity is cooking, defined as an encounter and process of energy transformation. A process carried out with respect for all parties – those who cook, those who eat and those who are eaten. Using food to create connections, she creates edible installations, workshops and multi-sensory experiences, while asking questions about our eating habits. Currently based in Reykjavik, Iceland.
