Edda Kristín Sigurjónsdóttir

(IS)

Edda Kristín Sigurjónsdóttir is currently undertaking a horticultural education in organic farming. She has an MA in interaction design from Malmö University and has since 2010 worked in the field of design and fine art, project managing, directing and producing locally and abroad at the Center for Design and Architecture, Icelandic Art Center, The Living Art Museum, Iceland University of the Arts and Sequences Art Festival. Edda lives and works in Reykjavík.

Edda´s own work (or life as it is all intertwined) is centered around slowly finding a way home to the heart – connecting with the below, the above and the inside. Food as material, sensory conditioning, color and composition are of her interest and woven into her daily practice. So are animals and the cycle of the living world of plants. She is enamoured by handicraft of the world and the alchemy in its kitchens and is a firm believer in the power of the wish.

Together with a friend she publishes a biweekly cultural subscriber based newsletter (since 2019) and is part of Slíjm, a collaborative amorphous entitiy, that between 2012-2015 realised numerous projects. All were centered around the basic idea of unfolding and embracing what there is right in front of us and oursleves with all the slime and oozy stuff we´re composed of.
