In 2019 a group of female artists in Iceland joined forces through the power of social media and founded the Association of Female Painters, a.k.a. Félag málandi kvenna. Since its foundation, the members have supported each other emotionally, practically and productively. However, the time has come for an exhibition which showcases some of its members. More specifically Andrea Aldan Hauksdóttir, Aðalheiður Daly Þórhallsdóttir, Ásgerður Arnardóttir, Brynhildur Þórðardóttir, Dýrfinna Benita, Freyja Reynisdóttir, Hildur Ása Henrýsdóttir, Íris María Leifsdóttir, Kristín Morthens, Melkorka Þorkelsdóttir, Ragnheiður Þorgrímsdóttir, Saga Sigurðardóttir, Sara Björk Hauksdóttir, Sif Stefánsdóttir, Sunneva Ása Weisshappel & Vera Hilmars. These sixteen female artists present a wide range between them in terms of experience, concepts and practice.

The curators of the exhibitions are Katerína Spathí & Þórhildur Tinna Sigurðardóttir.
