Jussi Kivi

The series by Jussi Kivi consists of hand-drawn maps, sketches and photographs which lead the viewer to the Subterrain chapter. In these works, Jussi Kivi points out structures that are often out of view for the average person but which actually underpin our entire civilisation. He provides a glimpse to the unseen world with personal documents created during his expeditions.

Jussi Kivi (b. 1959) is a Finnish artist who lives and works in Helsinki. Over the past two decades, Kivi’s work has revolved around his explorations of wastelands and remote and often neglected underground locations in both Finland and other countries. He mainly uses photographs, drawings and installations.
