Eva Ísleifsdóttir

Eva Isleifsdottir was born in 1982 in Reykjavik Iceland and is currently based and working in Edinburgh and Reykjavík. Eva Isleifsdottir studied at the Art Academy of Iceland where she graduated with a BA in Fine Art in 2008. In 2010 she graduated with a MFA in Sculpture from Edinburgh College of Art. Since 2008 Eva has exhibited her work internationally and co-created artist projects & artist residencies. She has also been actively part of a performance duo called Directrix since 2007.

” What generally influences my work is the complexity of the human feeling and it´s response to situations. I see things often in the comic form. I think the comedy reveals our true objective in a way. So my work tends to become childlike and optimistic. “
